Updated October 21, 2026

Amy Slaton walked into a wedding venue with a folder of pictures of a wedding that does not exist yet. One shows her sister Tammy as Elsa; another is a banner reading “Snow in Love” over snow, penguins, Christmas trees and ornaments. “Today I just brought some inspiration photos,” Amy says in her confessional on the 1000-Lb. Sisters episode that aired Tuesday, October 20, on TLC. “With the help of AI, I’m trying to give her options so she can get a clear vision, and me.” Tammy Slaton, 40, and her fiancée Andrea Dalton had come to see a building. Amy, 38 and the maid of honor, arrived with the wedding already decorated, down to the penguins.

People ran the clip as its exclusive on Tuesday morning, and by the afternoon every headline called the wedding Frozen-themed. Tammy never says the word. Her actual words are narrower than that, and the farm they were standing on has a name and a street address that none of the national coverage bothered with.

What Tammy asked for, in her words

“My vision for the wedding is simple, elegant,” Tammy says. “Just want poinsettias and glitter.” Shown the Elsa picture, she allows that she will “maybe” wear a crown, and describes the setting she wants as “more of like a forest, like Elsa. A queen, a forest queen.” Amy’s account runs longer: “Tammy’s got these wild ideas in her head of her wedding and stuff. One minute she wants ice queen theme, winter forest wonderland,” followed by “Next minute there’s like penguin bulls—.” Then she settles the question of who is running this wedding: “Baby, I don’t do simple. Let me handle the details. You just sit there and tell me if you like the building.”

Anyone who watched Season 8 will hear the echo. That season was Amy’s wedding, and Amy wanted it haunted, at the Talbott Tavern in Bardstown, on Halloween, with Tammy at one point refusing to attend. Now Amy, who wanted ghosts at her own, is drawing up a snow queen for a sister who asked for poinsettias and glitter.

The farm they toured

The building was Burdoc Farms, at 1655 Pleasant Grove Road in Crofton, Kentucky, in the western part of the state where the show films. The local paper, Christian County Now, had the story the same morning, with the one voice People did not have: the owner. Sara Shepherd, whose family has farmed the land since 1942, told the paper that the show’s producers called “looking for a venue close by for Tammy and her fiancé” and that she was “happy to provide that opportunity.” The farm added a year-round indoor hall overlooking its pond in 2016; its largest space is Keith Glen, a greenhouse-style reception hall, and it now books 60 to 80 weddings a year and held its 500th this summer.

The pond has resident swans, and TLC also shared a clip of the Slatons meeting them. Down at the bottom of the paper’s story sits the line that changes the picture: Tammy did not book Burdoc Farms, because of date availability. So the farm in every Frozen headline on Tuesday is one the couple toured and did not get.

The date she already gave

The availability problem makes sense once you remember the date, which Tammy said out loud six weeks ago and almost nobody repeated. In the September 8 episode, over dinner with three of Andrea’s longtime friends, one of them asked whether the couple had set a day. “December 12, ’26,” Tammy answered. “We’re thinking, like, ice princess.” A Saturday in mid-December at a farm that does 80 weddings a year is a hard ask with two months to go, and the venue scene was filmed well before it aired.

Andrea’s contribution to that dinner was timing. When a friend suggested a coat and tails for a horse and buggy and Tammy said no, Andrea announced, “Ain’t nobody gonna let me do nothing!” The proposal itself, which Entertainment Tonight ran when Season 9 opened, runs on the same dynamic.

A second engagement, on a slower clock

Tammy first called Andrea her fiancée on the Creative Chaos podcast in June 2025, two months after the Season 7 premiere showed her dating again. TLC showed the ring on July 21, 2026, and the proposal, after a horseback ride, opened Season 9 on September 1. Tammy’s review of it, as People quoted her: “I’m not upset or mad or anything, that you couldn’t get down on one knee. Still was very meaningful for me. You took me horseback riding and all the things I like. It was perfect.”

Her first wedding ran at the opposite speed. Tammy married Caleb Willingham in November 2022 at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where they had met as patients that year; Caleb died on July 1, 2023, at 40. This time a full year sits between the engagement and the first venue tour, and in late September both women answered online rumors that the relationship had turned violent, Tammy on her TikTok. “I’m not beating on anyone,” she wrote. Andrea said, “I would never hit Tammy, I would never hit anybody.”

My take

The AI pictures are the tell, and I mean that fondly. In August 2025 a fan sent Tammy an AI mock-up of a basketball wedding, ring on the ball, Wildcats logo on the cake, and she reacted on TikTok as if it were a plan. Fourteen months later her sister is making the mock-ups herself, and the one concrete fact Tammy has put on the record, December 12, is the thing the farm could not give her. I would watch the next episode for a calendar, and ignore anything with a penguin in it.
